What were YOU doing 10 years ago today?

I can barely remember what happened to me yesterday, but I can tell you that I got engaged 10 years ago today. Kelly proposed to me in Irving - by the mustang sculptures at William's Square Plaza. We went back there tonight for dinner at La Cima and a stroll around the mustangs. It was very perfect!

More on La Cima later...it is an experience!

Don't Call the Cops on Me

A cool day like today, after so many scorching hot days, calls for an extreme celebration. Please don't call the cops on me - my celebration won't last that long.

People I Like

10 reasons I like Wanda Lyle:

(These are not the only reasons I like Wanda...nor are they necessarily the main reasons I like Wanda...they are just a few reasons that come to mind.)

1. She has a funny laugh.
2. She adores her husband - though apparently she has spoiled him ROTTEN!
3. She makes me feel like I'm not a bad mommy.
4. She loves my son.
5. She's got great hair. What would Wanda be like without her big Texas hair?
6. She has such a wonderfully comfortable house.
7. Everyone likes being Wanda's friend.
8. She can relate to a lot of different aged people.
9. She makes me laugh. You should hear her when she's at the podium at the Ladies' Retreat.
10. She is a wonderful person and always seems to do the right thing.

You know what?

I don't just like Wanda...I love her!

I know Wanda doesn't read blogs - I don't think she even messes with a computer - but just in case -

Wanda - thanks for being just like you are - please don't ever change!

"A Mighty Wind"

If you haven't seen this amazing piece of cinematic art, then you need to make it a top priority to enlighten yourself with this fabulous movie. I TIVO'd it the other day and just finished watching the end of it this afternoon. I think it is soooooooo funny...not laugh out loud funny...just funny.

Just wondering - which of you agree that this is a great movie? I'm thinking this may be one of those movies that you either love or hate. What category do you fall into?

Also, for those of you that know Cary Branscum, couldn't you see him playing the part of "Mitch"?

Hubby's Headed for Houma

My sweet hubby has to go to Louisiana tomorrow for work to try to help some of his co-workers re-establish communication with the outside world. I wish he didn't have to go - I know it will be really hard for him. Physically hard, but just for a day and a half. There's no room at the inn - so he'll just sleep at the office. That's not bad for one night. He's got to get up at 3:30 a.m. (guess that's about 3 1/2 hours from now) to catch a flight. Not too bad for one night of little sleep. But I just know Kelly will see the destruction down there - hear the stories - and it will just hurt him so badly. I know he's a grown up and can handle it - but I just wish he didn't have to see it. Hopefully, the area he is going to won't be too devastated. He's just gone for one night. I know he'll be fine. He's such a softie when it comes to things like this. I'll be glad when he's back home with me.

I feel somewhat selfish whining over his trip to Louisiana knowing what so many in the area have experienced. I just know this is going to be a hard trip for him and I just want him to be happy and safe.
